Poverty: guest speaker: Looking at the policy (stupid rules) make it harder to people rather than easier to access  resources. There are pieces missing in our system that are important. Alex: disabled (34 years) small town outside of London. Moved to London to be  independent. Challenges: No job(work only for 4 hours and to be close to here place of  living and needed, ODSP 1176$ (Ontario Disability  We do not have a specific line for poverty 16000 is an approximate.   Went to Fanshawe 2002­2005 best days of her life. The best part of her experience is bus  pass. 81 dollars. Housing : 932$ + $244 Intermittent employment (2.5 hours commute)  But she still thankful. Paratransit?  Still the same tickets needed, booking 48 hours. And 1 hour availability, and multiple  riders. We need shelter  ▯food  ▯­▯ Any disable person should have a free bus pass. 6** cannot afford food! Food bank or the  kitchen.  Cheryl Story: 34 years, educated ECE diploma, PSW kids: 3  live in Montreal  got abused from her husband. Took her kids and looked for a place to stay. Found 871$  Found a job in coffee shop chain. Started having pain in her abdominals. Got fired. Got a  pay from social assistant of 1280 for clothes, apartment insurance, bus pass, dispensing  fee, birthday gifts, only have 210 for food! Go to food bank, OW office, and library
