Document Summary
Vertebral muscles- deep back muscles veterbral muscles are generally named erector spinae, it consists of three muscles. 1. keep the spine erect the i like standing muscles. Iliocostalis runs from illium to costal spans across the back of the ribs it is big lateral. 2. runs of fascia that is known as thoracolumbar fascia it is a large long tendon. White section is fascia runs up the vertebral column attaching to all the transverse processes. Spinalis attaches all the way up the spinous processes it is the most medial. True back muscles truly dedicated to keeping the spine erect they do this by extending the trunk, maintain posture, balance these are the muscles we usually hurt in our lower back they are always working when you are standing. When you stand dead still we rest these muscles only slightly this is because the vertebrae are stacked neatly on top of each other different innervation than other muscles .
