Document Summary
In the right orientation the inferior faucets face the anterior direction. This would be called a false foramen: demi faucets/ half faucets (other half is located on another bone): Majority of the ribs attached to multiple vertebrae. Must know which vertebrae is attached to a certain rib: transverse costal faucet: is on the transverse process. The superior rib is attached to the bone above it (t2 and t3) by attaching to the superior demi faucet of each rib end. It has to be the transverse process on the same number as the rib. Majority of ribs utilize the transverse process of the vertebrae with the same number. Ribs 10,11 and 12 just have one vertebrae that it associates with. Fused vertebrae: true intravertebral foramen (complete hole) (wider area is anterior, 5 fused bones that make up one bone in the sacrum, coccyx is also a fused bone.
