Health Sciences 2300A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Dorsal Scapular Nerve, Nuchal Ligament, Spine Of Scapula
Document Summary
Anatomy lecture muscles of the pectoral girdle and upper limbs. The arm in anatomy is from the elbow to the shoulder, also called the brachium. The forearm is from the elbow to the wrist, also called the antibrachium. Nerve plexus regions of nerves off of the spinal cord that come together and from webs. there are several in the bodt, ie. the cervical plexus, the bracial plexus (upper limb), lumbar plexus (femoral nerve), siatic plexus (siatic nerve). These webs are good because it has multiple paths because if they are damaged there are alternative routes for the nerve to take and continue functioning. Divided into two sections: muscles that move the shoulder (scapula and clavicle, anterior, posterior, muscles that move the humerus, axial (rib cage) a. i. Posterior these are positioned on the back but should not be considered back muscles because they move the scapula and don"t have anything to do with the spine.
