Document Summary

End of life something arguments are against that. Active - roughly, involves killing a patient: right now, there are no directions on how it will be applied, just that it is going to be legal, active is different than passive. Murder recklessly killing someone, without any defense. Vs. killing doesn"t mean, you might have done it by mistake. Passive - roughly, involves letting a patient die: e. g. , failing to revive a patient who has signed a dnr order, passive let the patient die without being involved. Not doing something : ex: comforting the patient when they are dying and letting them die (to their will, if they sign it). There are two kinds of passive euthanasia: withholding of treatment e. g. , not performing a needed surgery or not administering a needed drug. This can be because the patients don"t want to do the treatment if they are at a very late stage of the illness (ex: not taking chemotherapy)
