Canadian medical protective association (cmpa): advises and represents physicians in legal matters. Law is playing a greater role particularly for administrators. Some of the conventional responses to the increasingly challenging legal environment are unnecessary, costly and cumbersome. Cha does not give people a right to publicly funded health care sets out criteria and conditions that provincial health insurance plans must meet to qualify for full federal cash contribution. Cha is legislative basis for the federal provincial health accord (expired in 2014) Cha not comprehensive only covers insured services; hospital care, dental surgery in hospital and physician services and insured persons; residents of the province with some exceptions. Public administration administered on non-profit basis by someone designated by province. Comprehensiveness cover all insured services provided by hospitals, medical practitioners or dentists. Universality insured persons must be entitled to insured health services (except rcmp, fed prisoners and canadian forces) Portability cannot make eligibility dependent on residency for first 3 months.
