Lecture 18 female reproductive system part ii vagina, external genitalia, & mammary glands. Functions: excretory duct for passage of menses, receives penis and ejaculate (sperm, birth control, contains anterior and posterior fornices, posterior has erogenous zone highly sensitive. Lateral levator ani (pelvic floor), fascia, ureters: anterior bladder + urethra, posterior anal canal, rectum, rectouterine pouch, superior cervix, at 90o to uterus. The grafenberg spot (g-spot: erogenous zone, highly sensitive area. Location: at the anterior wall of vagina. Intense pleasure if stimulated: skene"s glands (paraurethral, gland that is responsible for female ejaculation, homologous to prostate gland in males (same cells) Female homologue of the prostate: responsible for female ejaculation. G-spot amplification: synthetic collagen pumped in to make g-spot bump out, more easily to find and stimulate it. Mons pubis: adipose tissue fatty pad. Lots of hair follicles: covers symphysis, cushioning during coitus, provides protection to pubic bones and gives rise to structures below.
