Vagina from cervix to exterior of body. Uterus- beween bladder and rectum four ligaments holding it in place. Ovaries either side of uterus near fallopian tubes: develop egg, release it , produce hormones. Female climacteric includes transitional periods in which reproductive capacity diminshes and finally ceases - decrease in estrogen and progesterone production. Atrophic vaginitis: results from lowered estrogen levels, vaginal walls get thinner, drier , more fragile and easily irritated. Caused by estrogen depletion and having many children. Cancer of cervix(neck of uterus) 3rd most common cancer of female gential systems: hpv most common cause of cervical cancer, leucorrhea (yellow of white discharge) may occur in older women. Cancer of uterus (endometrial: happens after menopause due to hormonal imbalance. Cancer of ovary: women older than 50, has the highest mortality rate. Breast cancer: 2nd causeo of death, most common sites near armpit and the upper, outer part of breast.
