The greater power you expand, and the longer the duration, the less power you are actually able to generate. Ex: you can run faster for 5 seconds, than running or 30 seconds; you can run faster for 30 seconds than 3 minutes. As duration increases, the power is going to decrease (maintaining low power output for longer durations). Atp-pcr system gives you energy very quickly early on but doesn"t last too long. It drops off dramatically as duration increases because that energy system is very limited (10-12 seconds). Atp-pcr system that starts very quickly but does not last very long. Then the anaerobic glycolysis takes time to become active (takes 10 seconds to reach peak power), and as the duration increase, that too becomes to drop. This system actually takes a couple of minutes to become active.
