One mettle in competitive athletics = road to self-discovery. Demands of contest help w/ thifacs - lose to truly worthy opponent (but play well) v. lose to unworthy opponent (play poorly) Bobby jones (golfer) called penalty strokes on himself - believed only way to play the game is to play fair. Cheating = failure to act in moral respect. Cheater is prohibited from competing and therefore cannot win - they are disqualified.
