Kinesiology 1080A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 20: Posterior Parietal Cortex, Visual Cortex, Binocular Vision
Document Summary
This is a simplified closed loop model of motor control: when we decide to act, the brain provides us with a goal, set up the goal and know what it is we want to do. System goal ex: picking up coffee. Executive level neuro-motor instructions that get sent to the effector level. Effector level the limb/body part used to be successful. Can include: vision that can provide feedback for correction, proprioceptive information, info from vestibular system. Afferent signals are going up towards the brain via the afferent pathway: taking systems and providing feedback to the reference mechanism. This feedback is then being sent back down the efferent pathway. Use this sense all the time very big role. Depends on what we are going to do with it. How visions provides feedback is highly dependent on what the feedback is for.
