Without propriocepion he just couldn"t tell them what to do. If he could visualize he could perform the movement. To keep control of his movement he needed his vision to tell his brain what to do. He needed to learn how to gesture - acively rather than passively. Ian could feel pain and temperature but no movement. Sensory are diferent sizes: large touch, smaller temperature. Lost all control of body below neck (does not know his place in space) nerve telling brain what his body is doing have been destroyed. Hard to treat because his illness is everywhere, not one speciic spot. Could not ix his destroyed limbs, had to ind a way to get brain signals to muscles. Moving was never again automaic, he had to visualize and plot every movement.
