Civil liability: when a person engages in conduct that results in harm to another private individual. Criminal liability: when a person contravenes social standards as expressed by criminal laws. Intentional tort: harm was intended to another (assault, battery, or false imprisonment) Unintentional tort: when a person ought to have foreseen that his/her actions would cause harm. A person will be liable of a tort only if he/she intends to do harm to others or is negligent in that plan what happens are not taken to prevent foreseeable harm. Legal liability for negligence is dependent upon three elements. A breach of the standard of care if we don"t plan. Emergency action plan: document to be followed in the event of a medical emergency which outlines mutually agreed upon areas of responsibility and methods of delivery via step/step procedures. Mutually agreed upon responsibility: everyone has a job to do and if they don"t do their job it is a liability.
