Kinesiology 2241A/B Lecture 27: Aerodynamics in Sports
Document Summary
Projection angle: the angle between the velocity vector and the horizontal ground, during flight, it is always changing. Attitude angle: the angle between the object orientation and the horizontal ground, during flight, may or may not change, the torque applied by the center of pressure about the center of mass is what changes it. Center of pressure: where the drag force and lift force attach. If the cp is in front of the cm, it will rotate clockwise. If the cp is behind the cm, it will rotate counter clockwise.
