Kinesiology 3480A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Auditory Cortex, Temporal Lobe, Motor Learning
Document Summary
Movement neuroscience lecture 5 adam groh. The temporal lobe: this lobe has a large function in visual object recognition. Visual agnosia results from a deicit to the temporal lobe and people lose the ability to recognize visual objects (high level deicit): the temporal lobe contains the primary auditory cortex. It is also the location of the hippocampus (structure with strong connection to the temporal lobe, but not technically part of it): our ability to understand speech and language (not produce) also stems from the temporal lobe. Lesions to the primary motor cortex result in a profound movement diiculties. Power grip occurs when both the agonist and antagonist contract.
