Access includes the same right as a parent to make inquiries and to be given information as to the health, education and welfare of the child . Usage of term best limited to situations where more than one person has legal custody, regardless of living arrangements (residence of child) Each can exercise rights and responsibilities of a parent: s. 20(3) children"s law reform act, need agreement on major decisions or arrangement will break down. Not a custody order: however used in media, literature etc, narrowest meaning, parents have joint custody and child resides with each parent for significant periods of time broadest meaning, each parent plays meaningful role.
