Society level values are often the underlying assumptions that are taken for granted: these are things that you are often socialized to know, hofstede"s. Each level of analysis has its own identify and hence its own cultural values. Values are there as a level of what a society should strive for: ex. Prof has a power distance that he is higher then students(value) so the norm would be that he expects students to raise their hands, arrive on time etc. A belief is a fact, an existence or a trust in someone or something.
