Job analysis: process of describing what gets done in a job (tasks, knowledge required, skills and abilities required) Workforce planning: the types and numbers of employees that are needed by an organization to meet goals (downsizing, hiring new employees) Recruitment: attract individuals (candidates) to job openings in the organization. Selection: using test and tools in order to choose the individuals that have the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are needed by the organization **last thing on first midterm** Training and development: planned effort to teach employees the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that they will need for the job. Performance management: making sure that the new employees are meeting the expected output. Compensation and rewards: how are you paid? (hourly, salary, benefits) Employee and labour relations: negotiation, contracts, etc.
