After seeing the airplane, members of the society started to build mock airplanes out of wood, and a runway in the belief that it would lead to material wealth. Believed that these goods will come from an airplane. The commercial papers of writing were viewed as magical instruments that would make things come from beyond the sea. Contact with a new technology can bring new transformation. Without writing there would be no possibility for science to develop. Thought processes are not natural powers, but are structured by the media we use. The literate mind would not- and could not develop without writing. One reason we need to examine writing systems- we need to pay attention to the actual implements of writing and the surfaces they wrote, will help us better understand space/time based media.
