Sexual essenialism the idea that sex is a natural force that exists prior to social life and shapes insituions. Western socieies have tradiionally considered sex to be eternally unchanging, asocial, and trans-historical. Essenialism classiies sex as a property of individuals, residing in hormones or psyches.
