As with gender, we atribute certain cultural meanings to certain types of bodies. Unlike sex, which has biological diferences, race does not have biological diferences. The colonized igure: a black man who grew up with a white mask. Gives voice of what it feels like to be the subject of a hosile gaze. The noion of the depersonalized, fragmented self; a fragmented self put together by someone else. How one perceives oneself vs. how others perceive.
