Privately funded enterprise that will send people to mars by 2023. Time scale is relatively astonishing because publicly funded projects propose a time many decades in the future. Whereas publicly funded projects take people there and back, this project is only interested in taking people to mars only the people will not come back. The people will die of natural or extraterrestrial causes. Beginning of the search for life on mars. No difference between the story told here and the stories we consume through ted, movies, etc. Although we are born on earth, we are not meant to die here. Relates to what heidegger meant about the destiny of revealing, or the danger that comes with our believing that we have a destiny. We will do anything in the name of destiny. To make sense of heidegger, we must have a background on him. What is most important about the life of a philosopher is the philosopher"s beliefs.
