About the quality/quantity of resources society makes available to its members. Canada is making little progress in addressing issues of poverty. Child poverty is on the rise 1/6 children. Poverty removes prerequisites for healthy development (shelter, food, warmth, participation in society) Poverty = psychological stress = damaging health effects. Poverty limits people"s choices and works against desirable changes in behaviour.
