She observed interactions of thousands of nurses and clients and recorded outcomes. She found that there were good nurses and bad nurses. Nurses who are able to use relational practice are good nurses. Humanely (caring for humans) involved process of respectful, compassionate and authentically interested inquiry into another"s (and one"s own) experiences. It"s a humane process that has do with respect and compassion and being authentic. It"s getting to know and understand about yourself and someone elses experiences. Relational consciousness (we are in relation with but also aware of that process) involves 3 subcomponents. Inquiry (asking questions, getting to know) as a form of action. Enter into each relational experience being open and paying; being present. A relational consciousness is grounded in the assumption that people are relational beings who are situated in and come from/come with a social, cultural, political, and historical background.
