Rn responsibilities wound care, delegating, advocacy, assessment, transfers, injections, meds. Not a straight decline, but more of a slowly decline with peaks and valleys a downward trend. By 2020 70% of a nurses role will be working with the elderly. I will lose my skills: most common students go to placement and experience basic skills, skewed idea, backwater of nursing. Very progressive with new technology and innovative ways to care for patients. Easy and slow paced: unique, intense demands. Spinning my wheels patients (+ families, specialists, doctors and meds) much, but that is becoming rare: on par with rn"s in hospitals. Some don"t pay as practice and culture leadership. Because you have an entire floor, can affect change in. Patients can often improve health or be treated better in a ltc.
