Classification of therapeutics: drugs, traditional drugs (e. g. chemical agents, biologics, antibodies, hormones, natural health products, herbals, vitamins, minerals, because we have diff classifications, diff government bodies are responsible for their approval and oversight. What is a drug: typically we think of a drug as a pill or capsule, drugs are actually chemicals, within every pill are many molecules of a chemical. It is the chemical that actually produces the pharmacological effect. When we think of drugs: when we first think of drugs, we think tablets or capsules, but really they are chemical entities, we have to think of them as chemicals, Chemical name describes the chemical structure of the molecule. Is used by chemists but not by many others.
