The Kantian answer/approach is that your only motivation should not be just self-interested
and you should making sure that you're aiding people in making rational decisions
o So if you're advertising something potentially dangerous, you have to make the
information available
But you have to do this because you want to, not because you're afraid
So according to Kantian principles, you're allowed to sell harmful products as long as long as
you are not harming other people - otherwise it's still about self-interest and profit
Kantian ethics is all about acting with respect towards all autonomous beings
o We all have duties towards one another - duties depend on the relationship
Kantian ethics constrains our actions - rules to act by
"the only thing that is intrinsically good, or good-in-itself, is the good will.
o Good will is the only thing truly under our control
The only thing that's truly under out control is our motivation that we act on
