The body is an obstacle when it comes to truths. We began with an attempt to understand philosophy as a process by which we make arguments as a means of gathering knowledge and/or convincing others to accept our position. The necessary first step of such an enterprise is to identify a topic worthy of inquiry and, in particular, ensure that the terms we are using in that discussion are clear.
