Increased therapeutic effects: ampicillin is an antibiotic that is rapidly inactivated by bacterial enzymes, sulbactam is an inhibitor of the bacterial enzyme that inactivates ampicillin. Ampicillin + sulbactam increased therapeutic activity of ampicillin. Increased adverse effects: warfarin is an anticoagulant used to thin the blood, aspirin is an analgesic (pain reliever) that also thins the blood.
