Muscle fascicle muscle cell myofibril . Muscle bundled up muscle fibres (fascicles w/ perimysium) bundled up myofibrils (muscle fibre w/ sarcolemma) sarcoplasmic reticulum sarcomere. I bands are the light bands formed by the thin filaments. The interaction b/w actin and myosin leads to muscle contraction. When the head of a myosin molecule attaches to the binding site on actin and forms a crossbridge, the myosin undergoes a change in shape. This change in shape causes the myosin head to swing, producing the power stroke: this power stroke is much like the stroke of an oar in the water. The power stroke slides the actin past the myosin. Expectations: explain, step-by-step, how and action potential is transmitted to a muscle. Use the information from the nerve module as a starting point. Reaches the axon terminal and ca++ is brought into the cell. Signals acetylcholine to be released out from the vesicles it"s in.
