Banned in gasoline: caused a lot of death and suffering but made the engines not sound loud . Invented freon: cfc not a natural compound, used in refrigerants, reduced the ozone layer. Midgel(cid:455)"s death as a (cid:373)etaphor: died because be contracted polio, confined to a bed but figured out a system of pulleys to move him up and down, got entangled in the ropes and strangled himself. Ironic because of disastrous results of long term consequences. Serious environmental problems: loss of natural resources. Natural habitats: rainforests, coral reef, etc. Agriculture is a huge reason why, wild fires, deforestation. Huge amount of protein for human beings. Biological diversity: we do(cid:374)"t k(cid:374)o(cid:449) the i(cid:373)pa(cid:272)t the e(cid:454)ti(cid:374)(cid:272)tion of certain animals will have on the soil/earth. Extinction is now 1000x faster than it used to be: ceilings on needed resources.
