Ideas range from very simple to very complex. Some ideas tend to be more sophisticated than others. Core values: protection of individuals by the state, not only physical protection but also the two rights below, property rights, rule of law, limited government intervention, liberty, tolerance. Defined as an absence of interference: the less people interfere with what you want to do in your life, the more freedom you have. Sphere of inviolability : classical liberals want to set up laws where you have as much freedom and as little interference as possible, want to maintain that bubble as much as possible. Opportunity cost of freedom: freedom is not about action but the opportunity to act if you want, freedom is about whether or not youre being interfered with compatible with undemocratic regimes.
