Felicity- happiness, getting what we want, continual success. Power- need power to get what you want. Predominantly self-regarding- people are more or less self interested. Uncertainty- everybody has reason to fear everyone else: competition: attack for gain, lack of trust: attack for safety, glory: attack for reputation. Natural right of liberty- the right or freedom that every person has, the right to defend ourselves, the right to decide if someone is a threat, the right to one another"s bodies. No injustice- no law without a law giver, there can be no broken laws. Laws of nature- rules of prudence, tell us what you should do i order to preserve ourselves. Fundamental law: seek peace, if you can get it. Second law: lay down your natural right, if others do too (right to preserve yourself)
