As suggested earlier, it may be more appropriate to use two methods: e. g. , ethnographic observations and interviews. Although crime is recognized as common, networks of localized support reduced the potential or at least fear of actual violence: 5a) tighter specification of the research question and; 5b) collection of further data here the interpreting and theorizing process is intermixed. Difficult to meet in social research, impossible to freeze social setting. Ethnographer must adopt same role as prior researcher. Internal reliability whether, then there is more than one observer, members of the research team agree about what they see and hear (inter-observer) Internal validity (cid:449)hether there is a good (cid:373)at(cid:272)h (cid:271)et(cid:449)ee(cid:374) resear(cid:272)her(cid:859)s o(cid:271)ser(cid:448)atio(cid:374)s and the theoretical ideas they develop. Strength of qualitative methods (ethnography) sense that it is trying to be close to what is observed and theoretical ideas: external validity degree to which the findings can be generalized across social settings.
