Sexual development includes: learning about your sexual likes and dislikes (sexual orientation, communicating with sexual partners, becoming responsible about sex (safe sex, developing personal capacity for sexual intimacy (beyond casual or manipulative sex) Media influence: heterosexist and stereotyped views of sexuality and gender roles are predominant, seinfeld episode where men were showed to be more of a sexual creature than women - masturbating every day. Heterosexism - the belief that heterosexuality is the only legitimate, acceptable, and healthy way for people to be. Chaste - abstaining from sexual intercourse: celibacy, abstinence. Singleism - the stigmatizing and stereotyping of people who are not in a socially recognizable couple relationship.
