If the gene is recessive, the trait will not be expressed unless the paired gene from the other parent is also recessive i. e. brown eyes and dark hair is dominant over blue eyes and blonde hair. Polygenic effects: numerous genes combine to determine a trait. Identify whether a person has the specific genes that will result in certain diseases i. e huntington"s, breast cancer etc. Provide medical counselling and support as well as earlier intervention.
