I tell all my students the same thing - i picked this textbook for a reason. I chose this edition of the textbook because it has the most up to date and accurate research. I will also be lecturing from this textbook and testing from this textbook as well. The older version of the textbook does cover very similar concepts, however, there is new research, statistics and literature presented in the new edition. With that in mind, make the decision that is best for you and your study/class attendance habits. I will be posting lecture slides (most likely) on the sunday afternoon before monday"s class. I will be posting lecture slides in ppt format, but saved as a pdf. I have had students ask me before if i can keep them in a ppt format so that they can take notes on them, and unfortunately the answer to that is no.
