Got pulled over- he resembled suspect who raped a girl. Took picture of him, showed it to victim, she said hes the closest. Caught interest of journalist, who found the real rapist. Lost his job, fiance , etc, wanted to file lawsuit. Memory is like a wikipedia page- you can change it, but so can other people. When u feed people wrong info about their own experiences you can change or distort their memory. Not all memories pass successfully thru these stages and probs may occur at each stage. Recollections that seem so vivid, that we can picture them as if they were a snapshot of a moment in time. Determining whether what is currently being viewed/heard is the same as the previously witnessed. Present at the time of the crime and cannot be changed (age, lighting) Can be manipulated to increase or decrease eyewitness accuracy (lineup) Recall of the crime can take 2 forms.
