Gender differences: group difference (average, not applicable to everyone, no perfect theories, many are conflicting. Study: gender incongruent images are forgotten more than gender congruent images: traditional sexual script, heterosexual men and women place different roles, men: eager, experienced, women: gatekeepers, innocent. Schema"s and scripts are assumed to be learned through a process of socialization: children may be rewarded for gender appropriate behaviour and punished for gender inappropriate behaviour, they may imitate adult models. Obstacles to interpretation: political forces, liberals push to minimize differences, while conservatives tend to emphasize, actual vs. bogus differences, bogus pipeline studies, gender is not simple dichotomy, biological components, assigned gender, gender identity. Gender differences: textbook, masturbation, attitudes towards casual sex, use of porn, sexual arousal to erotica, orgasm consistency, sex drive.
