2x week for 3 months or accompanied by significant distress or impairment in social, academic or other important areas of functioning. Voiding of urine into bed or clothes is not due exclusively to a general medical condition or the result of a diuretic. There is a age of 5 that people are expected to be able to do this. Nocturnal: wetting only during sleep, more in boys, most common subtype, occurs during 1/3 of the night. Nocturnal: incidence 4-13% of kids 10 and younger; by age 10 3% of males and 2% of females; by late adolescence 1% male and less than 1% female. Diurnal: less common about 3% of 6 year olds. Secondary enuresis: primary the child has never developed a period of contenance; secondary is child has established contenance and then bed wets. Parent with primary, 5-7x chance of having it. Kids have higher doses of stress in secondary.
