Document Summary
Behaviour that violates social norms of appropriate conduct (loitering, stealing, lying, etc). A response that delivers noxious stimuli to another organism. This does not take into account a person"s attention. Covers animal aggression well, but not human aggression. Is any form of behaviour that is intended to hurt another person physically or psychologically (who doesn"t want to be hurt *non consenting*)! Fantasy is not aggression (example: thinking about getting back on a cheating ex) Sometimes aggressive thoughts and feelings lead to aggressive behaviour but not always due to our sense of self control. Some people are not even aware of their motive. Aggression aimed at damaging another"s reputation or relationships is relational aggression. Girls are more likely to engage in relational aggression. Indirect physical aggression -> robbing someone while they are not home. Non-action: neglect, passive aggression (silent treatment), passive aggressive behaviours is a way to manipulate others. Some types of aggression vary in their legitimacy by culture.
