Document Summary

Steps / process of how occupations start and are maintained. Being able to start and maintain an occupation can transition into other occupations. This model comes to mind when thinking about transitions. Development of occupational competence, identity and adaptation. Trying to promote coping and functioning with health issues how do we recover from these things to return to function, maintain function or try new function. Change can occur as a result of three broad forces: More attention to life stages than transitions. Not just passively moving from stage to stage. Government is giving more focus to transitions (ie. though the school system) - especially providing more support to those who are at risk for not transitioning well. The government is now investing 2x as much money into mental health support into schools. Because in the long run it saves money (people are more efficient, use less health care services, etc. )
