Making merry, but his face isn"t entirely in it. Surplus of meaning, much more there than what we see. The man is fulfilled, he needed to see jesus before he died. Now that he has seen the salvation, he can go in peace, closed eyes. Baby is fixed on him with eyes open. Baby is possessing him, he doesn"t possess the baby, he is the lord. Placement of people- son below father, father embracing son, brother above them both. Father and brother wearing the same cloak, the father saying all i have is yours.
