In exorcist: have the sense of the body as something not very stable, boundaries between outside of the body and the inside/ the mind. Eg. urinate, scars as a message, fuqz herself with cross. Fluids out of body - urine, blood, vomit. Looks like a corpse - undermining life and death. Living corpse in the horror genre: vampire, zombies, all to do with bodies that are transgressive - sign of death. Foregrounds bodies while doing something to our body. Fear movies - something very bodily: sad films/ tear jerkers, pornography. Spaces of transgression: how transgressive spaces/ periods of one life are there to allow us to indulge in fantasies, horror films - about excesses of ourselves, others and spaces. Exorcist - photo of when older priest comes to mclean home to perform exorcism, light shining out from reagans bedroom to have the light frame the priest.
