During times of anti-semitism, many universities wouldn"t allowed jewish students to apply there were quotas put in place so there could only be so many jewish students admitted. After 9/11 concordia has become known for protests. Someone could almost say that the student centre is known for free speech the qur"an on tables, etc. Hate speech was created to protect minorities you cannot inspire hate through speech. The jewish student was suspended for a year, the muslim men were expelled for 6 years and faced criminal charges. Governance of students: expulsion, suspension, criminalisation. Tactics of inclusivity: prayer centres, human rights and equity requirements. Trent: non-academic code of conduct: governs both on and off campus, don"t have to monitor 24/7 so this gives them the power to remove students, can be helpful for cases of sexual assault/harassment.
