The self is developed through a socialization process. The sense of self is a collection of beleifs that we hold. Self socialization is a developmental process that allows you to reflect upon yourself. Socialization is the lifelong process of socil interaction and learning through which a child leanrs the intellectual, physical, and social skills needed to function as a member of society. Socialization contributes to the formation of personality and ultimately a sense of an individual self awareness and self image that develops via socialization. It develops as a result of innate urges reacting with demands of a society to act civilized. Ego: seeks to balance the demands of the id and superego. It is widely acknowledges that golloweing elemts of self must develop early ina childs life: from the day a child is born they are identified by their gender. Although socialization processes are particularly significant in infacy and childhood, they continue to some degree thoughout life.
