Throughout history the masses were ruled by lites and the masses had no control. People were heavily involved in voting when the franchise was started, but overtime things have changed. If people don"t know the issues when they vote, they are blindly being led. A modern democracy is unique because all adult citizens have the right to vote. Increasing apathy, indifference and undernourishment takes place in canada. Political beliefs are determined by emotions as opposed to facts (i. e. how people feel as opposed to facts which are considered to be a conspiracy to 35% of the american population) Made possibly by digital technologies and social media platforms. Pick and choose from whichever political stance that you want. Because there is no youth voting bloc, no policies will be implemented that will benefit youth (i. e. education, employment opportunities, etc. ) Democrats and republicans overlap on 90% of the issues, pro-capitalist. If you are politically ignorant, the internet will not help you.
