The facebook experiment: emotional contagion in action experiment set-up: manipulation of positive and negative content in users" newsfeed: results show 2 effects: 1. Through the manipulation of content, users" posts can be influenced. The more emotional the content, the more engagement was observed in general. Link between tech and real world is important as tech is only really in existence in the real world. Example: shoelace - major technological revolution - not directly intuitive, requires design and intuition. Societal norm which determines which technologies we consider acceptable and what we do not. *think of how horses were huge change to travel, and then we move to cars, plans, automated cars*
