Says that you should try and get back to a nuclear family as soon as possible (required in the past) Women needed a husband for support and men needed someone to help raise the children. Challenges people to adapt to personal circumstances. If you"re not happy, you should be able to be happy by yourself or with someone else. Wrong to view divorce as solely one of these things negates experiences that individuals have. Suggest as divorce being seen as women resisting roles of being the homemaker and being subordinate to their husbands. Doesn"t mean 40/100 couples are getting divorced. Crude divorce rate is not accurate because it looks at divorces out of the whole population, while not everyone can get divorced (ex. Divorces and marriages are now both on the decline.
