Macro - focused on large scale social structures and social insituions. Funcion - insituions and structures posiive contributes to the operaion/funcion of the system (society) as a whole. Interdependence - a change in anyone part requires other parts to modify their acions and adapt. Equilibrium - parts work together in an orderly manner (goal is maintain consensus or homeostasis) Evoluionary change - change tends to orderly; conlicts simulates adjustment of parts towards new equilibrium. Consensus - behaviour governed by norms/values that are accepted/agreed upon; like equilibrium, if disturbed, goal is to maintain consensus, therefore order will be restored (via sancions, punishment, etc. ) What is straiicaion - hierarchal organizaion, meaning that society is divided and ranked according to various categories. How does straiicaion lead to social order - if everyone is straiied according their natural talents/abiliies, everyone will be doing their proper roles within society; society will run smoothly.
